Why I Started Fellowship Over Good Food
Beyond the White Coat, Beyond the Pulpit
As a physician, a wife, a believer, and a woman navigating leadership spaces, I’ve learned that sometimes the greatest needs we carry have nothing to do with titles—but everything to do with our hearts, our identity, and our hunger to be seen.
I created Fellowship Over Good Food (FOGF) because I saw a gap—not just in our schedules, but in our souls. I saw brilliant, purpose-driven women—doctors, researchers, PhDs, leaders—thriving publicly but often carrying private fears about marriage, motherhood, calling, aging, and identity. And I felt it too.
We needed space. Safe space. Unfiltered space. A table where we could show up without explanation—not as professionals or parishioners, but as whole women.
FOGF was born from that burden and became a personal mission: to meet needs beyond boundaries—beyond the hospital, beyond the church walls, beyond what people assume strong women don’t need.
And so, we gather. We cook. We laugh. We talk deeply. We cry. And we eat meals that remind us of home, made quick and easy thanks to Safari Simmer, a product I co-created with this kind of gathering in mind.
At our last brunch, we shared:
- Jollof Breakfast Bowls made in minutes with Safari Simmer
- Shakshuka layered with eggs, herbs, and culture
- Brunch Lasagna with potatoes, ground beef, cheese, and eggs—comfort in every bite
- Non-Alcoholic Mimosas, because joy doesn’t require a pour
In those moments around the table, we’re not managing anyone else’s expectations—we’re just tending to one another. Women pouring into women. No performance. Just presence.
This is the work I feel called to do: connecting culture, creating community, and giving women permission to pause—over good food.
Welcome to Fellowship Over Good Food. Where nourishment meets mission.
